Healthy Gut, Healthy Brain!
Did you know there is a direct correlation with your gut and brain ?
In Ayurveda the science of life, everything starts with the gut. Once you have gut health everything else can be easily brought back to balance. Your gut houses millions and millions of bacteria which all have a distinct part in the metabolization of food as well as distributing hormones, vitamins etc.
You can think of your gut as the Main Health center of your body. Here you not only physically metabolize your food you also metabolize your life.
Your body depends on you to give it nourishment that actually work for your body.
This means that you are in communication with your body not merely staying abstinent from something that does not feel good. (more on that later)
Here are just some symptoms that may occur when there is disturbed gut health
Bloating, constipation, heartburn, diarrhea
sleep disturbances, constant fatigue (The majority of the body’s serotonin, which is a hormone that affects mood and sleep, is produced in the gut)
skinn irritation
Autoimmune conditions
food intolerances
depression
these are just a few examples.
In my practice I have seen it over and over again treat the gut and everything else falls into place. It is integral to have good gut health this does not mean just the mere absence of symptoms like above. This means that your gut can metabolize easily and with joy the foods you are giving to your body, as well as your life, as a result of being in communication with your body.
Which in turns creates a feeling of wellness which has a direct correlation to your brain.
What does it mean to be in communication with your body ?
Your body communicates via sensations and feelings. When these get overridden over and over again a discourse or miscommunication starts to happen.
Have you ever experienced being out of communication ?
I certainly have and it feels, yucky, sad, even upset, and then sometimes we tend to do things we actually regret later.
Here is an example of what this can look like, you know when you eat a burger you get heartburn and you do it anyways and then you lay in bed at night feeling terrible. Because nobody likes to be in pain, the treatment of the symptoms start to set in, and you might grab the “Pepto Bismol” or any other relieve for the symptoms of heartburn.
This does not mean you never ever can eat burgers again but there is something goin on where your gut cannot metabolize what it is given.
This can also happen when there is discourse in your life. Being out of balance, stressed, emotionally challenged with life’s circumstances, etc.
In Ayurveda the treatments are with foods and with beautiful formulated herbs that actually enhance your communication with your body and get you in YOUR balance again.
These foods and herbs are there for you to connect on a deep deep level to awaken your inner physician so that your gut becomes your friend and you have an amazing relationship with your body again.

Good health is a state of complete physical, social and mental well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity!
We have the amazing ability to heal and our Body Mind Spirit correlation and communication is very important. This also goes for what you are surrounding yourself with.
Your gut depends upon you to make the good decisions.
For example when you eat and watch anything that stimulates your nervous system into fight or flight guess what – your nervous system shuts down your digestion.
So the foods coming into your stomach just sitting there and cannot be synthesized this creates a lumpy mess that sits there and puts out the fires of digestion. Think of having a wonderful warming nourishing fire and then you throw cold damp mud on top of it – what happens? The fire extinguishes and maybe smolders a bit. the fire now cannot do anymore what it is designed to do. Nourish warm, cook etc. Then you go about your evening or your day and keep eating on top of this – while undigested food is sitting there – and more and more food is coming in but nothing gets processed. Constipation can sets in. The body will find other ways of redirecting this undigested food in advanced levels of disease it can be found in the rest of your body as AMMA which lets call it “Dirt” in your system. Your pathways can get clogged etc etc etc.
This in turn also slows down your energy distribution as well as any serotonin. Remember your Serotonin is like a neurotransmitter for happiness in your body.
Remember the majority of the body’s serotonin, which is a hormone that affects mood and sleep (and any other things), is produced in the gut
If you have low serotonin you might experience
anxiety
depressed mood
aggression
impulsive behavior
insomnia
irritability
low self-esteem
poor appetite
And this is due to your gut not being able to do its job.
When you are supported you can do what it is that you need to do right !? :}
So when your gut is working well, is healthy and supported, with the right foods to its job, you can be fulfilled in your life.
